The year 2011 is at the end – it has been pretty interesting year regarding waterproof digital cameras. It is also the year when I started writing this blog, about underwater photography equipment and reviews.
In 2012 there are many plans to do with Waterproof Digital Camera Blog – a lot of underwater gear is still waiting for review. For instance, I have a new camera and waterproof housing from Canon and I cannot wait to test it out!

I am returning to this wonderful continent down under in February next year, visiting Great Barrier Reef and the whole Eastern Coast as well. FujiFilm FinePix XP10
Due to the low price, attractive design and magnificent waterproof characteristics, this waterproof digital camera from FujiFilm will probably stay the most popular and the best-selling waterproof digital camera according to Amazon in 2011 as well. You can choose from four different color variations – green, blue, black and silver. The detailed description of the camera and review you can find here. The camera is waterproof, freezeproof, shockproof and dustproof. It can capture HD video in 720p resolution. The resolution of the camera is 12MP and is using Fujinon 5x Periscopic Optical Zoom. You capture photos and videos with 2.7 inch large LCD. The four-way protection includes: waterproof up to 10ft (3 m), shockproof from the drops of 3ft (1 m), dustproof and freezeproof down to 14 °F (-10 °C). Some other features are: face detection, red eye removal software, digital image stabilization. The sensitivity can be pushed up to 1600 ISO, 6 scenic modes , HD movie recording in 720p with sound. The waterproof digital camera XP10 is made of thin metal body and for working it uses Li-Ion rechargeable accumulators.
Olympus Stylus Tough 6020
This is another and currently the second best selling waterproof digital camera in the market. You will get Stylus Though 6020 from $150 – $200. Is has the resolution of 14 MP, the LCD has the diameter or 2.7″ (the same as the FinPix XP10) and uses 5x times optical zoom. Nevertheless, it is a bit more expensive than FinePix even though it is waterproof to the same depth – 10 feet. It comes in 4 different color variants – black, blue, green and pink. Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2
Last but not the least – Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 is another great and pretty inexpensive waterproof digital camera for the amateurs and amateur underwater photography. Is is slightly more expensive than the two listed above, but at the same time it also offers way more – for all the features check out our review of this waterproof digital camera. This is 14.1 Megapixel digital camera with advanced and tough design. Is is waterproof up to the depths of 10 meters, shockproof to the drops from up to 2 meters and freezeproof to the temperatures down to -10 °C. The special features if AVCHD Lite HD movie recording. Power OIS Enhanced technology takes care for image stabilization, so your images will be always perfectly sharp and contrast. This model comes in four different color versions: silver, blue, black and orange!
