How long should you meditate for?
5 to 10 minutesIf you are just starting out, I recommend you meditate for anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes every day.
You can start with even less.
Maybe try it for 1 minute in the morning.
And when you can sit still and relax for that long, move to 2 minutes..
Is it OK to eat before meditation?
While there are no hard, fast rules about what you should eat before meditating, there are some broad guidelines you should follow. Big meals can make you drowsy, especially when they’re high in carbohydrates, so eat lightly if at all before you sit. Or wait at least one hour after a major repast.
Is it better to meditate before or after breakfast?
Before breakfast is generally a good time to meditate. But for beginners, especially folks who are feeling stressed out, meditating at all can be daunting. In that case, I recommend simply putting your attention on slower, deeper breathing—even for just five minutes—early in the day before getting busy with anything.
